Pilesgrove’s New Destination for Craft & Cowboy Culture
If you’re looking for a brewery with some serious “Yee-haw” spirit, look no further than Bullhide Brewery in Pilesgrove. Situated directly across from the legendary Cowtown Rodeo and right next door to Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters, this spot is a masterclass in thematic brewing. Opened in late 2025, Bullhide has quickly become the heart of “Downtown Cowtown,” blending South Jersey’s agricultural roots with a top-tier craft beer program.
As soon as you step inside, you’re hit with a stunning “farm-barn” aesthetic. The timber-frame structure and soaring ceilings give the tasting room a massive, open feel, anchored by striking antler-inspired chandeliers and rustic western décor. It’s the kind of space built for a crowd—whether you’re there for a quiet flight or ready to join in on one of their regular country line dancing nights on the spacious floor.
For those who prefer a view with their brew, the rear of the building features a private wraparound porch and a backyard area that overlooks a neighboring horse farm. It’s arguably one of the most scenic spots in Salem County to enjoy a sunset pint.
The Tap List & Brewing Philosophy: Head brewer Mike McDonald (formerly of Maryland’s Key Brewing) brings a wealth of experience to Bullhide’s 10-barrel system. The brewery focuses on clean, drinkable styles with a nod to old-world techniques, often utilizing New Jersey-grown grains and hops.
Standout Features:
The Vibe: A massive, rustic-chic tasting room with a distinct cowboy/western theme.
The Porch: A relaxing outdoor area with views of a local horse farm—perfect for warmer months.
Live Events: A dedicated space for country line dancing, seasonal festivals, and community gatherings.
Cowtown Proximity: Located right in the thick of Pilesgrove’s most iconic attractions (Rodeo and Flea Market).
Craft Variety: 20 taps total, with a rotating selection of up to 10 distinct house-brewed beers, including blonde ales, West Coast IPAs, and robust porters.
Merch: Grab high-quality Bullhide branded hats, tees, and sweatshirts to complete the look.
Whether you’re a local regular or a craft beer traveler heading down Route 40, Bullhide Brewery is a “must-stop” destination that proves high-quality beer and cowboy culture are a match made in heaven.
