Obscura Brewing: A New Vision for Craft Beer in Cape May Court House
Get ready to experience the obscure! Obscura Brewing Co. has burst onto the Cape May County beer scene, and let me tell you, they are making a name for themselves. If you were familiar with the former Bucket Brigade Brewery, you’ll be blown away by the transformation. Obscura, which opened its doors in March 2025, is a complete re-imagining, with a new brewer, a fresh vibe, and some of the most exciting and innovative beers in South Jersey.
Located at 205 North Main Street in Cape May Court House, Obscura is a 7-barrel brewery with an impressive 15 taps pouring a diverse and ever-changing lineup. From crisp and clean lagers like the “Gojira” Japanese Rice Lager and “Grip & Rip” Czech Pale Lager to bold and hazy IPAs like “Something Obscure” and “The Earth is Breathing,” there’s a brew to satisfy every palate. They aren’t afraid to get creative either, with unique offerings like the “Counting Worms” Oreo Milk Stout and the award-winning “The Puddin’” Banana Pudding Pale Ale. Seriously, you have to try this one!
The tasting room has a cool, industrial feel, but the real gem is the outdoor beer garden. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a flight, pint, or some cans to go. They often have live music and food trucks, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for beer lovers and families alike.
Obscura Brewing is a must-visit for any beer enthusiast exploring the Jersey Shore. With their commitment to quality, creativity, and community, they are quickly becoming a standout destination in the New Jersey craft beer landscape.
