Cape May Court House, the county seat of Cape May County, sits a few miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean at the southern tip of New Jersey. The area around it spans rural farmland and coastal woodlands, and the county as a whole has developed one of the denser concentrations of wineries in the state. Vineyards here benefit from a maritime climate that moderates temperature swings, extending the growing season and supporting grape varieties suited to the mid-Atlantic coast.

The craft beverage scene in Cape May County centers on its wine trail, with tasting rooms scattered across the rural areas north and west of the Court House area itself. Breweries have also opened in the county in recent years. Visitors making the trip down from Atlantic County or spending time in Cape May City often use the Court House area as a practical stopping point for exploring the county’s production venues, which range from small farm wineries to larger tasting room operations.
