Dennis Township, in Cape May County, is a rural municipality in the southern tip of New Jersey, covering a large area that includes the communities of South Dennis, Dennisville, and Belleplain. The township is mostly woodlands, wetlands, and small residential communities, with Belleplain State Forest covering a significant portion of its interior. It sits in the center of the county, with the Delaware Bay to the west and the Atlantic coast accessible to the east.

Cape May County has established itself as one of the more active winery counties in New Jersey, with the maritime climate supporting grape growing across the county’s rural stretches. Dennis Township’s position in the center of the county places it near the wine trail that runs through the agricultural areas of Swainton, Goshen, and surrounding communities.
