Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, covers a large area of northern Monmouth County spanning from the Raritan Bay shoreline south through suburban and rural terrain. It borders Sandy Hook and overlooks the Lower New York Bay to the northeast, giving it a geographic range that includes waterfront neighborhoods like Belford and Leonardo, older suburban zones around Hazlet, and more rural stretches further inland.

Craft beverage production in Middletown draws from a substantial local population and from proximity to the Shore. The township is accessible from the Garden State Parkway and from the Atlantic Highlands ferry, making it reachable for day visitors from New York City. Monmouth County’s brewery scene has grown considerably in recent years, and Middletown’s size and population put it within that broader network of northern Shore-area craft venues that extends south toward Asbury Park and north toward the Bayshore communities.
