Milford, in Hunterdon County, sits on the Delaware River in the northwestern corner of New Jersey, directly across from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The borough is small but occupies scenic river valley terrain that draws visitors from both sides of the Delaware, particularly on weekends when the Lambertville and New Hope corridor to the south can feel crowded.

Hunterdon County is one of New Jersey’s established wine and craft beverage regions, with a concentration of wineries and cideries spread across its rural farmland. Milford’s position on the river makes it a natural entry point into this landscape for visitors coming up from Frenchtown or over from Pennsylvania. Breweries and wineries both have a foothold in this part of Hunterdon County, and Milford’s accessible downtown and Delaware River setting make it a reasonable base for exploring the county’s craft beverage venues further east toward Flemington and Readington.
