North Cape May, in Cape May County, occupies the bay side of the Cape May peninsula at New Jersey’s southern tip, adjacent to Cape May city and within view of the Delaware Bay. The area is primarily residential, serving as a quieter alternative to the Victorian resort town of Cape May while sharing access to the bay beaches and the seasonal tourism that defines the peninsula from spring through fall.

Cape May County is well-established as a wine and craft beverage destination within New Jersey. The county’s position at the state’s southernmost point and its distinct coastal microclimate make it well-suited for viticulture, and winery tourism has a long tradition in the area. Craft venues in North Cape May draw from the steady seasonal traffic the Cape May peninsula generates from visitors coming from Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal nearby adds a stream of day visitors crossing from the Delaware side of the Bay.
