Phillipsburg, in Warren County, sits on the Delaware River at the western edge of New Jersey, directly across from Easton, Pennsylvania. The town has a 19th-century industrial character defined by its canal and railroad history, and its compact downtown has seen incremental revitalization as the cross-river region between Easton and Phillipsburg has grown as a destination for dining, arts, and craft beverage stops.

Warren County is not as widely recognized for craft beverages as neighboring Hunterdon County to the south, but it has a developing cluster of taprooms and producers, and Phillipsburg occupies the most visible position among them given its Delaware River setting and its role as the region’s commercial center. Visitors arriving from the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania or coming south from the Poconos often pass through Phillipsburg, adding an out-of-state visitor base to the local customer pool and supporting venues that might otherwise rely solely on Warren County residents.
