Pitman, in Gloucester County, is a small borough situated a few miles south of Glassboro in the middle portion of South Jersey. The borough has a compact historic downtown and a residential character typical of the smaller communities in Gloucester County, which has seen increasing craft beverage activity as the region between Philadelphia and the Shore has developed a more connected taproom and tasting room circuit.

Gloucester County sits between Camden County to the north and Salem County to the south, and its craft beverage scene reflects that in-between position: more suburban and accessible than Salem County’s rural wineries, but without the density of taprooms found closer to the Cherry Hill and Haddonfield areas. Pitman’s proximity to Rowan University in Glassboro adds a consistent local audience for craft beverage venues in the immediate area, and Route 55 connects the borough to both the Shore counties and the Delaware Valley corridor, giving producers here access to a broader customer base throughout the region.
