Ringoes, in Hunterdon County, is a small village in East Amwell Township, set in the agricultural landscape of central Hunterdon County between Flemington to the north and Lambertville to the south. The area around Ringoes is characteristic of New Jersey wine country: rolling hills, open farmland, and a rural road network connecting a loose cluster of vineyard tasting rooms and farm wineries accessible from Route 202 and the county routes that branch off it.

Hunterdon County consistently holds the largest number of farm wineries in New Jersey, and East Amwell Township sits near the geographic center of that concentration. Visitors to Ringoes are generally making a dedicated winery tour of the Hunterdon corridor rather than a casual stop, given the rural setting and the distances between venues. The village is also close enough to Flemington to serve as a starting point for a broader loop through the county’s southern wine region before heading east toward Mercer County and the Princeton area.
