Somers Point, in Atlantic County, occupies a peninsula on the mainland side of Great Egg Harbor Bay, directly across from Ocean City on the barrier island. The city sits at the intersection of Routes 9 and 52 and serves as a year-round residential hub in a county that draws heavy seasonal Shore traffic from late spring through Labor Day. Ocean City is a dry municipality, which has historically pushed visitors looking for craft beverage options to the Somers Point mainland.

Craft breweries and tasting rooms here draw from the surrounding Atlantic County communities including Egg Harbor Township, Northfield, and Linwood. The area is roughly 20 miles south of Atlantic City and about 30 miles north of Cape May, placing it squarely in the middle of Atlantic County’s craft beverage geography. Visitors spending time on the southern Jersey Shore will find Somers Point a practical base for exploring the Atlantic County taproom circuit before or after a trip to the barrier islands.
