Summit, in Union County, is a borough on the Watchung Ridge in northeastern New Jersey, about 25 miles from Midtown Manhattan with direct NJ Transit rail service to New York Penn Station. The city has a well-established downtown and a residential character shaped by its commuter identity, both of which support consistent demand for local craft beverage options.

Union County’s craft brewing scene is smaller than those of neighboring Morris and Somerset Counties, but Summit and the surrounding area have seen taproom openings that serve the local community. The borough sits at the edge of the Watchung Mountains, adjacent to Millburn and New Providence.
