Wayne Township, in Passaic County, is one of the larger and more populous municipalities in northern New Jersey, situated about 20 miles northwest of Midtown Manhattan in the Passaic River valley. The township spans a significant area that includes commercial corridors along Route 23 and residential neighborhoods ranging from suburban to semi-rural in the western portions near the Pequannock River area.

Passaic County’s craft beverage scene has grown in recent years, with Wayne’s size and population base supporting taproom and tasting room operations. The township’s location near Routes 23, 46, and Interstate 80 makes it accessible from across northern New Jersey. Visitors coming from Morris County to the south or Bergen County to the east will find Wayne a convenient stop on a broader northern NJ craft beverage tour. The area’s proximity to the Ramapo Mountains and Garrett Mountain Reservation also gives it some outdoor recreation appeal for visitors pairing taproom visits with hiking in the northern Passaic County highlands.
