Wildwood, in Cape May County, is a barrier island resort community at the southern end of the Jersey Shore, roughly 40 miles north of the Delaware Memorial Bridge and about 5 miles north of Cape May. The city is known for its doo-wop architecture and free public beaches, and its summer tourism economy substantially inflates its population from June through Labor Day.
Craft beverage venues in Wildwood and the Five Mile Beach area serve a visitor base that skews toward warm-weather activity, though the borough maintains year-round residential neighborhoods. Cape May County as a whole has a notable winery concentration along the peninsula, and Wildwood is within a short drive of the winery tasting rooms that cluster around Cape May and Cape May Court House. Visitors spending time in Wildwood, North Wildwood, or Wildwood Crest during the summer season will find the broader Cape May County craft beverage circuit worth exploring, particularly in the shoulder months of May, June, and September when the Shore crowds thin and tasting rooms are less busy.
